The Spring City Red Sox advanced to this afternoon's state championship game with a 7-6 win over the host Boyertown Bears. The Bears scored 3 runs on a throwing error in the bottom of the eighth, but two 2-out runs in the 9th were the difference for Spring City. Boyertown's season has come to end, but Spring City moves on to play Pennridge in the title game. The Red Sox have also clinched the state's second berth to national regionals.
