Pennridge couldn't have been too pleased with their 13-4 loss yesterday at the hands of the Ohio state champions from Tuscarawas County. They bounced back today, handily defeating the host of the Great Lakes Regional.
The PA runner-ups got three runs in the second inning, and then added another in the third before Mattoon could counter with two of their own in the bottom of the inning. Pennridge got another two runs in the fourth before breaking things wide open in a crazy sixth inning where they plated six runs. They took a ten run lead into the bottom of the seventh, but the hosts fought back to extend the game with a run.
Pennridge moves on to play the loser of the Terre Haute, IN vs. Moline, IL game at 1:30pm eastern tomorrow in game nine.
