Chesapeake, VA Crowned Mid-Atlantic Champs

After a bit of a rough start to their tournament, Chesapeake, Virginia rallied to win every one of their games to sweep their way to the Mid-Atlantic National Regional Championship.

It was another impressive performance by the Virginia state champs on Monday afternoon, as they held Brooklawn, NJ to just two hits and no earned runs.  Jordan Adair was the star of the game, going seven innings and striking out six batters.

Chesapeake advances to the 2010 ALB World Series in Spokane, Washington which commences on Friday.  We'll have more details about who they play and a wrap-up of the Mid-Atlantic Tournament coming soon.

Congratulations are certainly in order to the new Mid-Atlantic champs, and to Brooklawn on what was an incredible run.  As you may remember, Brooklawn lost one of their coaches a few months ago in a tragic accident.  The team rallied to a New Jersey state title and National Regional runner-up finish in his honor.
