Bedford defeated Claysburg 9-2 to win the league title. Somerset, also representing the league, was the host of the regional tournament. Somerset topped Marion Center by a run on the opening day. The hosts followed that with two consecutive losses, losing to Unity and eventual champion Latrobe. Bedford had a tougher time, going 0-2 during the tournament. The state announced a slight update to the Region 7 bracket this afternoon.
Essentially, Unity (District 31 #1) and Bedford (Cambria) switched spots. The first day's matchups are as follows.

Marion Center 9, Young Twp 2
Marion Center cruised to a 9-2 victory behind the pitching of CJ Stiles and solid defensive play. Marion Center will be Indiana County's #2 seed and will join Indiana County's #1 seed Kovacik Insurance (Blairsville) at the Region 7 Tournament in Somerset. Marion Center's record is 17-8. Blairsville's league record is 17-5.

Young Twp rebounded from its Game 1 loss to defeat Marion Center 6-5 and even the series at one game apiece. Jared Selkirk kept the Renegades' bats quiet, going the distance to help stake his team to a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three finals series. Indiana County's playoffs start on Wednesday. Three-time defending regular season champion and defending playoff champion Kovacik Insurance (Blairsville) will play Young Twp, and Punxsutawney squares off with Marion Center in the best-of-three semi-finals series.

Latrobe, fresh off a 16-1 regular season, will be the number one seed in the upcoming District 31 playoffs. The Jethawks clinched the top spot with a 4-0 win over rival Unity on the 4th of July. Blairsville defeated Marion Center 6-1 Monday night, completing a 2-game sweep of their best of three championship series. Blairsville (25-4) is Indiana County #1 seed for the Region 7 Tournament and will face Westmoreland champ Hempfield East. Marion Center (18-10) is Indiana County #2 seed and will square off with host Latrobe at the Region 7 Tournament.

Playoffs got underway Wednesday evening with regular season champion Blairsville scratching out a 6-4 win over visiting Young Twp. Frank Wolford went the distance, striking out 8 batters, to get the win. Sam Held took the loss. John Distefano finished 2-3 with 3 RBI and plated the winning runs with a 2-run single in the bottom of the 5th after Young Twp scored 3 in the top of the inning to tie the game at 4.

The Indiana County playoffs are set with two best-of-three semifinals series getting underway Wednesday, July 11. Regular season champion Blairsville ( 21-3 ) will face Young Twp ( 14-10 ). The Jefferson County League, which had hosted legion baseball for decades, disbanded over winter due to a lack of interest from area teams. The four remaining teams moved to neighboring leagues as follows: Clearfield and Dubois to the Central Penn League, Punxsutawney to the Indiana County League, and Brookville to the Clarion County League.

The Indiana County League (Region 7) opened play on Monday night with Young Twp. topping Homer City Post 493 by a score of 11-0. The game was shortened to 5 innings by the 10-run mercy rule. Sam Held held Homer City to a leadoff single by Garrett Omasta and fanned 11 in the win.
